Bol Two thousand years ago the Greco-Roman world was ready to accept the Jewish God - but prospective converts resisted the customs that came with it. The solution, as Matthew tells it, was Jesus himself becoming an alternate path. Matthew's Story is a historical fiction that traces a logical and coherent way the pieces of Christianity fell into place - following the apostle Matthew from his time with Jesus through his relationships with Mary Magdalene, Peter, and Paul. Armed with little more than desperation and ingenuity, Matthew and his group make a series of choices that will quietly reshape the ancient world. A body disappears. Stories are invented and refined. Scripture is reinterpreted. The truth, as Matthew tells it, is more surprising than the legend.
