Marcia was the only child of Portia and Patrick. Marcia's grandfather did not survive a car accident. Some of his co-workers could be happy without him. His wife, Lauren, had a few people in mind who might have engineered the accident. After the burial, Marcia moved in with her grandma in an affluent suburb. Marcia had a boyfriend she met at varsity. When her parents found out Austin was a white boy, they supported their daughter despite their misgivings. Trust between white and black is at a low level. Austin's father had a liquor store. The business was successful, but he was spending money on women. he was abusive, treating women as if they were not human. The law caught up with him, charging him with raping two women. His behaviour influenced Austin to think women did not deserve respect from men.After graduating from university, Austin and Marcia continued with their relationship. Marcia discovered the stained life of Austin's family. They were a bunch of supremacists. Marcia began backtracking. Austin continued abusing women until a prison term stopped him. By then, Marcia was no longer interested.Austin's father was a member of an evil-minded white folk intending to cause havoc in the country. There were elements among the black who wanted to even the field. By a stroke of luck, the imminent civil war never materialised.What does the future hold for the beleaguered couple? Perhaps Austin will find help to stop the rot. Perhaps Marcia will meet with her suitor.
