Moving to a town famous for its haunted prison may make you question your new environment. In this collection of short stories, characters will evaluate just how well they fit in with their surroundings, and ask, "What do you do when you don't feel at home in your home?" The stories are mainly set in West Virginia and most of them feature all kinds of characters coming of age. Stories range from a man recounting the day he became a coward, to a brief oral "history" on how music came into the hills. Queer protagonists include a high school band f-- coming to terms with his sexuality, and an out-of-place farm kid pursuing a forbidden romance. And, of course, you'll be given a tour of the town Charles Manson once asked to live in.
