New dogs need love. But who is caring for the rescue dogs waiting to be adopted from the animal shelter? Madeline Finn is determined to give these dogs the same happy life that she gives her new puppy, Star, and with the help of friends with books and blankets she knows exactly how to do it. Madeline Finn has a brand new puppy and lots of responsibilities. She has to walk Star, and feed him, and make sure he has a safe place to sleep. But, she learns, the most important thing is love.
