Lost in New York: Persons such as ourselves

Three friends. One week in New York. And a carefully planned holiday that doesn't stay carefully planned for very long.Donna, Carol and Anisa have been friends for twenty years. They know each other's habits, tolerate each other's quirks and have reached the stage where very little about one another comes as a surprise. Then they go to New York.Anisa has an itinerary and fully intends to stick to it. Carol has a talent for shopping, wandering off and becoming interested in things nobody else has noticed. Donna is generally happy to go along with either of them, preferably while holding a cup of tea. What follows is a week of Broadway, sightseeing, bargain hunting and the occasional cocktail, alongside wrong trains, unexpected detours, a missing purse, a broken phone, far too many shopping bags and the alarming realisation that none of them can remember the name of their hotel.Somewhere along the way, the holiday they planned becomes something much better.Lost in New York: Persons Such As Ourselves is a warm, funny story about long friendship, getting older without necessarily getting wiser, and discovering that the moments you remember most are rarely the ones you planned. For anyone who has ever travelled with friends, laughed when everything went wrong, or returned home needing a holiday to recover from the holiday.
