Looking At

All over the world, people face prejudice, abuse and persecution because they have a different culture, language and way of life that marks them out as members of a particular ethnic group. This book explores the history of racist hatred and examines the present day experiences of immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and members of ethnic minorities who find themselves as targets of racism. It also looks at the rise of neo-fascist organizations and asks what can be done to heal these divisions in society. Throughout there are debate boxes which challenge the reader to think about difficult questions and viewpoints boxes that look at differing sides of the debates.
