Listen Closely as Johnson County Speaks Vol. 5

Oral History gathering is an official method of preserving voices and memories-to see a slice of the pie of life. Only we can tell our own story. A good first-person story will leave us wondering, thinking, and daydreaming. In this book, you'll find beautiful oral histories gathered from Johnson County, Wyoming citizens. These storytellers capture a place in time, narrating details of the way they lived their lives. The histories tell of times along the Bozeman Trail, homesteading, cowboy days, and sheep trailing. They travel through both World Wars, the Great Depression, and on to present-day Buffalo, Kaycee, and the tiny "suburbs" and large ranches in Johnson County. Their stories help us understand how people lived and survived in the Bighorn Mountains and Powder River Country through the years. Listen closely to hear their voices, their adventures, and their wisdom.
