Leading from Within: Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Strength for Today's Workplace

Leading from Within is an invitation to rethink what leadership truly requires and where it actually begins. In a world that rewards visibility, performance, and external results, this book turns the focus inward, to the inner life of the leader, where beliefs are formed, emotions are regulated, values are clarified, and purpose is anchored.Drawing from psychology, spirituality, and lived leadership experience, Dr. Powell challenges the idea that leadership is primarily about managing others. Instead, she presents leadership as a practice of self-awareness, alignment, and responsibility, one that recognizes that the emotional and spiritual health of the leader inevitably shapes culture, relationships, and outcomes. What is unresolved within us does not remain private; it shows up in our decisions, our communication, and the environments we create.Through reflection, insight, and real-world application, Leading from Within explores how emotional intelligence and spiritual grounding work together to produce resilient, ethical, and sustainable leadership. Psychological frameworks illuminate how patterns are formed and repeated, while spiritual wisdom addresses the deeper questions of meaning, identity, and calling. Together, they offer a path forward that is both practical and transformational. This is not a book about perfection, charisma, or control. It is a guide for those willing to do the inner work required to lead with clarity and integrity, especially in moments of pressure, conflict, and uncertainty. It speaks to leaders in every context; workplace, family, community, and self. Leading from Within ultimately reframes leadership as a journey, not a destination. It is an invitation to grow consciously, lead responsibly, and build lives and organizations that are rooted in purpose, wholeness, and lasting impact.
