Bol Rights available.Had he not, by chance, seen again his childhood house one evening, on the eve of his 60th birthday, Paul Andreu would have never written this book. He had to go back to this town where he had grown up, to impose on himself this unplanned trip, for everything to return: smells, sounds, games, rules, and of course, secrets. Everyone knows the significance of Paul Andreu as an architect (from the Paris Opera building to the Maritime Museum in Osaka, from the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai to about thirty airports throughout the world) but here a writer of the intimate and idiosyncratic is being revealed: the best way, no doubt, to reach to the universal. Paul Andreu's La Maison is not the one he has always dreamt of building, but it certainly has built him.Paul Andreu was born in 1938. An architect and engineer, he has worked for Paris Airports for more than 20 years as chief architect and engineer from as early as 1979. In June 2004, he launched his own agency. La maison is his first novel.
