Justice Warriors: Nothing but a Vision: 1

What happens when a survivor finally finds the courage to reach for help-only to discover that the safe place they need does not yet exist? For Anne-Marie Worsley-Bond, this was not an abstract question. It was a reality shaped by her own experience of sexual violence, addiction, loss and recovery. As she began writing her testimony, Brokenness to Restoration, she found herself returning to the same painful truth: when survivors are at their most vulnerable, the support they need may be scattered, difficult to access or simply unavailable. What might they need in those first hours?A safe door.A gentle voice.Clean clothes.Somewhere to breathe.Somebody willing to stay.As Anne-Marie wrote, she began to recognise not only what had been missing from her own journey, but what could be missing for countless others. From that realisation, a vision began to take shape.Justice Warriors is a deeply personal dream to build a Christian, survivor-centred and trauma-informed refuge in Swansea for women, children and others affected by sexual violence. The proposed refuge would offer immediate safety, compassionate listening, practical essentials, emotional and spiritual support, and connections to appropriate professional services during the vulnerable hours following a crisis-when survivors may be frightened, displaced, overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. That need is urgent. Too often, gaps exist between emergency response, healthcare, safeguarding and longer-term support. In those gaps, survivors can be left without a calm and secure place where they are believed, treated with dignity and supported to make informed choices about what happens next.Justice Warriors begins with a simple conviction: no survivor should have to face those first hours alone.Anne-Marie does not claim to have every qualification, every resource or every answer. She is simply one woman choosing to be obedient to the vision placed upon her heart. God does not only call those who already feel ready-He strengthens and equips those who are willing to answer."Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God."-2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV)One hundred per cent of the author's proceeds from this book will go towards the formation and establishment of Justice Warriors as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, helping to put the governance, safeguarding, training, insurance, policies and professional partnerships in place to build the organisation properly and safely. This is more than a book about a future refuge. It is the heartbeat before the walls. It is one woman answering a calling. It is the beginning of Justice Warriors.
