Joy of the World

Joy of the World is a collection of 31 international devotionals for the Christmas season. Each one was written from the perspective of an international Christian leader. There is a devotional to be enjoyed for each day of December. Each one is told from the perspective of a different area of the world. These backgrounds provides different lenses to appreciate the story of the birth of Jesus.Each devotional contains historical, religious, or political information from a different part of the world. There is also a Bible verse related to the Christmas story. Each devotional concludes with a prayer request for the particular country featured.Joy of the World illustrates the diversity and vitality of the Christian faith at Christmas time. While many think of Christianity as a western religion, it is vibrant in Africa, Asia, South America, and Eastern Europe. These viewpoints will broaden Christians celebrating the Christmas season, particularly those in the West.
