She ran, with her baby cradled to her chest, through a thick forest. Heavy mist, like clouds, rose from the ground, obscuring the forest floor covered with thick vines making her stumble every now and then. Merciless branches, with their thorns, snagged at her clothes and tore open her skin. She absorbed every cry of pain, for the baby she held in her arms. Three days ago, she'd been a happy mother.
