This book is about a personal experience of a psychologist who travelled from Europe to join a small group of women from Australia in a Sri Lankan Buddhist monastery. After receiving teachings on Buddhist philosophy for ten days at the monastery, and partially participating in the monastic life by doing chores and attending ceremonies, the group visited important Buddhist sites in the country for ten days. They used a farm as their base amidst serene, lush forests, an opportunity for the author to observe and learn from nature. Personal feelings and observations, lessons from monks or from nature are described in the most vivid way- an attempt to motivate readers to jump into a new space and allow personal growth, especially spiritual growth with an emphasis on mindfulness.
