The state is an important and indispensable actor in international relations, whose authority or image depends on the accumulation and prudent use of its political, economic, diplomatic, military, cultural, intellectual, and other potential. It must be assumed that a state's image depends not only on the role and position of the actor in international relations on the world stage, but also on its domestic policies. A democratic system of governance, a sustainably developing economy, the rule of law, respect for human rights, the level of development of civil society institutions, intellectual potential, and defense capabilities play an equally important role in shaping and strengthening a state's image.
