This book, the result of several years' research, highlights inequalities between social groups in Cameroon. Specifically, it draws up socio-demographic and socio-economic comparisons of social classes and analyses their evolution in the country, drawing on current data but also, and above all, contemporary theory of redistribution. This approach enables the construction of a poverty line necessary for the eradication of absolute poverty. The construction of such a line is necessary when, within a population, there are significant inequalities, a high incidence and intensity of poverty, as well as a high aggregate level of income. Furthermore, this book provides information on the individuals or households that should contribute or make efforts towards the elimination of poverty in the country - that is to say, the wealthy. It also provides information on those who should not be expected to do so - in other words, individuals or households belonging to the middle class. Ultimately, this book indicates that there are sufficient resources within the observed income distribution to eliminate poverty in the country.
