Indomitable: The war has become personal...: 2

It's another stormy ride for the British naval officer! For fans of Dewey Lambdin, Patrick O'Brian, Nicholas Monsarrat, C. S. Forester and Max Hennessy. Newt must fight to prove his worth... 1781 Newt Beresford and his friend Gideon Fisher have almost completed their six years of service and they both anticipate being put forward for the lieutenant's examination. Whilst their ship is in port in Halifax, Nova Scotia, undergoing repairs, a new second officer, Lieutenant Quill, comes aboard and takes an instant dislike to Newt. Newt has put up with people resenting him for being the son of the legendary Captain Ambrose Beresford his entire career and is concerned that Quill's animosity will frustrate his ambitions for promotion. Those concerns are exacerbated when Lieutenant Quill brings a midshipman called Banks with him who is older and even more desperate for that promotion to lieutenant. When the Indomitable is ambushed on its way down the coast, Newt has his shot at glory - but will he be given the credit for it? And when the Indomitable goes up against the French in Chesapeake Bay, will Newt manage to prove his worth in the most decisive battle of the American Revolutionary War...? INDOMITABLE is the second book in the Newt Beresford Naval Adventures series: action-packed, authentic Age of Sail historical adventures set in the 18th century.
