Today, nanotechnology offers a wide range of possibilities for the treatment of cancer. The delivery of drugs using nanocarriers makes it possible to target and destroy tumour cells whilst minimising damage to healthy tissues and organs. Significant progress has been made using various polymers and ZnO nanoparticles. This paper presents data from an in vitro study of the antitumour activity of new nanoscale composites comprising ZnO and antitumour drugs (doxorubicin and cisplatin). It was found that the presence of ZnO nanoparticles in the structure of the composites enhances, to a certain extent, the antitumour activity of doxorubicin and cisplatin in HeLa cell cultures.
