Ice and Broken Rules

Lena Carter, a meticulously prepared twenty-three-year-old physical therapist, lands her dream job with the Chicago Blades, but her professional integrity is immediately tested by the team's star captain, Ethan Brooks. Ethan is a hockey prodigy hiding a chronic shoulder injury that could end his career, and he views Lena's cautious medical protocols as a threat to his captaincy. The conflict escalates as the arrogant team surgeon, Dr. Sterling Montgomery, dismisses Lena's findings to keep Ethan on the ice for a high-stakes playoff run. Forced into a tenuous alliance, Lena and Ethan begin secret late-night rehabilitation sessions where their mutual irritation melts into an undeniable, electric attraction. As they navigate the high-pressure world of professional sports, they must hide their burgeoning romance to protect Lena's license and Ethan's reputation. Dr. Montgomery's gaslighting becomes increasingly dangerous, forcing Lena to choose between her career and the health of the man she loves. Amidst the roar of the crowd and the chill of the rink, the stakes rise beyond the scoreboard. Their relationship is tested by media leaks, locker room politics, and the physical toll of the game. Ultimately, they must find a way to expose medical malpractice while securing a championship victory. This is a journey of vulnerability, trust, and the courage to prioritize healing over glory. Together, they redefine what it means to be a leader both on and off the ice.
