Such as the friction between the development of technology and the consequential reassessment of the role of the human being. The search for self-love and some kind of truth in a sea of internalized chatter. The quest for what truly matters and the determination of what has value-if anything. Hourglass Harlequin ventures to explore the mundane, and to look for the beauty hiding in the corners of life that tend to collect dust. The speaker reflects upon the ashes that accompany the living, and wonders how it is possible to infuse life into sorrow, disappointment, and heartbreak. This collection of poetry confronts, with a playful curiosity, how the internal and external world may intersect, or sometimes miss one another entirely. As the speaker closely examines parts of her own inner voyage, she wishes you well on yours.
