HISTORY NOT FORGOTTEN: The Ohio Giants

History is full of stories. Some are true. Some are exaggerated. And some refuse to stay buried. When college student Katrina Roberts begins researching one of Ohio's strangest historical legends, she expects to find an old newspaper story and little more. Instead, she uncovers conflicting reports, forgotten records, vanished cemeteries, disputed discoveries, and a mystery that has grown for more than a century. At the center of it all is a genuine 1885 newspaper account describing unusually large skeletons discovered near Homer, Ohio. But a report is not proof. As Katrina follows the evidence through old maps, archives, archaeological records, family histories, and local legends, she learns that finding the truth is rarely as simple as deciding whether a story is true or false. Every source has a history. Every claim has an origin. And sometimes what disappears from the record is just as important as what survives.Guided by the lessons her father taught her as a child and challenged by the people she meets along the way, Katrina slowly becomes more than a curious history student. She becomes an investigator determined to answer one question: What do we actually know?Blending historical fiction, mystery, archaeology, and real nineteenth-century reports, History Not Forgotten: The Ohio Giants launches the Katrina Roberts Investigation series with a story about evidence, legends, forgotten places, and the dangerous gap between what people believe and what history can actually prove.
