Hero's Hell to Heaven

Ever since Hugo's mother died when giving birth to his little sister, his stepfather has been unhinged. The violence came years after the drinking began. Now, his sister Annabelle is ten and he's seventeen. When Hugo is caught with a gay lover, the man who's supposed to keep them safe becomes more violent than ever. Fearful for his sister's well-being, Hugo makes the decision to run and takes her with him. Overnight, he leaves behind high school, his first love, and their identities to become a 'nineteen-year-old with legal custody of his sister.' He wants nothing more than to offer his sister safety and a chance at being a normal little girl. When fate lands them in a small town named Jameson, they find that sometimes it's okay to accept a little bit of help. As they acclimate, Hugo battles with keeping some of the aspects of his former life a secret, locking some of himself away with it. It's not an easy task when the local law enforcement has an attractive gay police officer or the family that's extending them help has a teenage son who is just Hugo's type. Filled with heartwarming moments, budding friendships, a wholesome family, an endearing slow burn romance, plenty of laughter, and lots of beautiful big brother gallantry, their story is one of hope and what can unfold when a hero is bold enough to break out of hell in pursuit of something heavenly.
