"Don't tell me it's haunted around here." "No. Not haunted. Something else." Seeking a quieter life, Jack Decker moves his family to the isolated town of Kettle, Vermont. The fresh air, and slower pace are exactly what they need. Then a mysterious package with no return address arrives at their general store. Inside is an object unlike anything Jack has ever seen. Meanwhile, Jack's daughter, Blake, befriends a troubled local girl named Geena, who leads her beneath Kettle's abandoned grain elevators to a network of forgotten caves hiding a terrifying secret. The deeper they dig into the town's history, the more they realize Kettle has been protecting something for generations. Some secrets should remain buried. As reality begins to unravel around them, the Deckers find themselves caught between a dark local legend and something far older-and far less human. From bestselling author Nathan Hystad comes a novel perfect for fans of eerie small-town horror and science fiction mysteries.
