Heartfelt Poetry

My mother, Madeline K. Sanderson, lost her husband and my father after forty-nine years of marriage. She was devastated, as you might imagine or know firsthand. She looked to the Lord for help and guidance. He gave her the gift of writing poetry as a catharsis of what she was feeling. She had not written poetry prior to this but started a profuse writing of poetry that produced a bounty of diverse subject material. She also put much of her poetry to music and sang in various venues locally. Most of her poetry was written to praise the Lord and to give thanks for His blessings.With this book, I have had some of her poems published. I look at it as a dedication to her life and love for my father and for her love of the Lord. It is meant to be encouraging, thoughtful, and uplifting, especially during the times in life when the reader may have lost a loved one. My hope is that it provides comfort.Cheryl M.
