Harpy: Volume One

Sometimes I look up at the night sky and wonder what ifsomewhere in the vast universe, someone is out there lookingback? What if there are intelligent beings out there somewherewho are just as curious about us as we are about them? Whatif we were discovered by other intelligent beings? What if ithas already happened? Anything is possible. This is a storyabout what could happen if we were discovered. My thoughtsand ideas have been fed and inspired by such writers as A.E. Van Vogt, Isaac Asimov, Stephen Vincent Benet, O. Henry,Mary Shelley, H. P. Lovecraft, and Omar Khayyam. They aresome of my heroes. I hope that I never do them a disservice, but that my writing may compliment their tutelage. The beststories, however, are yet to be written, and so many greatwriters are yet to have their work published. My hope is thatthis publication will find an appreciative audience and stir theembers of human imagination.
