Happiness Economics

This paper aims to provide an overview of the current state of economic happiness research. The goal is to use various studies from selected disciplines of happiness research to find out what insights have been gained and what future challenges result from them. To find this out, a large part of the paper will focus on identifying weaknesses in happiness research. The positive aspects will not be overlooked. The question of whether economic happiness research is a suitable instrument for deriving policy recommendations will also be addressed.
