Haikus are a short form of poetry originating in Japan comprising three lines of five, seven, and five syllables, respectively. Haiku no Hanataba is a collection of 100 haikus, mostly on themes from nature including the sky, sea, trees, flowers, birds, rivers and so on as well as everyday experiences (like a chat with a friend or a toothache) and those from the author's various travels in India and abroad. The haikus are arranged in ten separate categories. The book is beautifully illustrated with pen-pencil and colour illustrations which capture the different moods and moments expressed in the poems.
