Haggard Harry and the Invisible City

Harry Bowyer was abandoned. When his brother John David was drafted into the Marines then killed during the Korean conflict, Samuel Fiery Bowyer abruptly hated his own children. Harry was the youngest, yet he shouldered the most responsibility and took all the blame. A eleven year old should not ever carry such a burden. To be like his brother who he admired so much Harry became a soldier but didn't wait to be drafted. He enlisted and was awarded the distinct honor of Paratrooper of the year. He was a hero in the United States Army for achievements while stationed at Fort Bragg. He spent time in the Philippines in the early 1960's among other volatile places. Days, weeks, months, and years saw Harry marry, become a father of identical twin boys - John and David - and Harry furthered his education then became a lawyer. During this entire time Dr. Bowyer was also an atheist. >*****Remarkable!When you combine a great writer and a great character you often create a great story. That is definitely what happened here. I have known Harry, the subject of the story, for over 30 years and have known the author for several years.Jason (JS) Moore has not only the capacity, the desire, and the skill of storytelling; he also has the 'gift, ' which I have rarely seen, although I've been in the book business for nearly half a century. Moore is adept at picking the right subject material and giving a unique and sometimes unusual perspective on the story. More Twain than Grizzard, JS Moore includes himself in the story as the story teller, but the story itself is truly Harry's.It's a small book with a powerful message. That is what had me hook, line and sinker, when I read the back of the book online. I did want to know more. After reading the book, I NEED to know more. I had no idea a second and third book would be made and now I can't wait to get the second one so I can...know more. This is a very short book but has a lot of power and information included within it's pages. I live in Bristol Virginia now which isn't far from Kingsport where you can see Harry roam, but I wasn't aware of him at all, until a couple of years ago. I hope that the author will also some day write a book on another famous Kingsportian ( if that is a word ), by the name of Jack Campbell. I can say that this is the first of the books written by the author that I have read, but I will be reading more.
