Looking to build your graphic design portfolio? These hands-on lessons, developed by the faculty of Sessions, the online school of design, will help you stretch your skills. After a brief introduction to the field of graphic design, the Sessions instructors provide quick "refresher course" chapters on the two key applications any designer needs to know - Abode Photoshop and Abode Illustrator. From there, armed with a good grounding in the basics, you'll tackle a series of projects involving logo design, magazine layouts, illustrations, poster design, digital imaging, book cover design, and packaging design. Projects are flexible and creative, not cookie-cutter: at the end of the day, your work will be unique, showing off your particular style and flair. Finally, you can post your projects online, for professional feedback from Sessions faculty members and other readers.
