A race against the clock that spans five centuries to save a revolutionary discovery in medicine.The day after his twenty-third birthday, a student in biotechnology, Samuel Lenostre, receives a letter from his father Joshua Adam Lenostre requesting his presence in the offices of Counselor Ricci in Venice. But his father had been dead for eleven years, perishing in a fire in his research lab at the Curie Institute. At the time, his laboratory had been about to make a major medical breakthrough.Intrigued, Samuel travels to Venice where Counselor Ricci hands him a diary entitled Trip to Genoa, that appears to be written by his father. It relates the life of a 21st century doctor transported back in time to the late Middle Ages, where his contemporaries were Ambroise Paré and Paraclese. Reading between the lines of this incongruous text that no one takes seriously, Samuel, with the help of his sister Julie and police officer Hugo Gottlieb, follows the trail that will lead him to his father, to a revolutionary treatment for cancer, and to the criminal responsible for his father's disappearance.
