Governance and Institutional Reforms in Africa: A Comparative Approach Outlook

This book offers an in-depth analysis of governance and institutional reforms in Africa from a theoretical, critical, and forward-looking perspective. Starting from the observation that institutional crises recur in many African states, the study seeks to identify their structural causes, manifestations, and implications for political stability and development.The analysis highlights that institutional crises are not short-term phenomena but are part of complex historical dynamics, marked in particular by the colonial legacy, institutional fragility, and deficient governance practices. It also underscores the ambivalent role of external influences, which oscillate between supporting development and reinforcing structural dependencies.Through a multidisciplinary approach combining law, political science, and economics, this research demonstrates that the observed dysfunctions result primarily from a disconnect between formal norms and actual governance practices.
