The four original travelers; Frank and Lilly along with Grant and Esther have now been joined by William and Roxanne who represent the younger generation taking the lead in the kinds of support roles that the older generation have been carrying for years. The younger generation in the Medieval world is also stepping up and taking more responsibilities in the conflicts and challenges everyone seems to be facing as the year 1000 approaches and the fear of an apocalypse rises in the hearts of the ancients. Roxanne's experiences in traveling have become far more complex than the simple paradigm of stepping through a portal and the mysteries she is encountering are completely changing her as she learns to to feel before she sees and to know before she understands.
