God's House the City and Celebrations

Jesus once told a little story about a loving father and a wayward son. It's a story that does a lot. His little story sums up not only the One Big Story of the Bible but the history of our reality and the explanation for the human condition. The One Big Story of the Bible is also known as "the gospel." It means "good news." The "God's House Series" of studies summarizes that One Big Story as, "God is building Himself a house." That house is a family or family-line or nation. And it's very good news that God is building Himself a house. Like all good stories, it contains some bad news, but it has a happy ending ... for those who are part of God's "house." For those wayward sons who come home to the Father, the story ends in celebration. The City and the Celebrations takes a look at the nation that God is building and the city where He chose to put His name: Jerusalem. Additionally, it takes a look at the feasts that God gave that nation and what they mean today and in the future for that wider "house" that God is building. Like the story of the loving father and the wayward son that Jesus told, the One Big Story of the "house" God is building ends in celebration, and this study also takes a look at the ending of that story and the ultimate celebration that awaits us.
