The second volume of Gajdo¿ Double Bass School is the continuation of the first book published in 2025. It is designed for beginner double bass students of any age and aspiration. Its core purpose is to provide a comprehensive foundation in double bass technique, with valuable methodological notes by Miloslav Gajdo¿ on playing posture (standing or sitting) and bow-hold techniques. It contains the most recent methodological instructions, as the text was finished in December 2025 and directly reflects Gajdo¿'s lifelong teaching experience.Books 1 and 2 of Gajdo¿ Double Bass School offer an in-depth analysis of all primary and transitional positions, presenting a systematic approach to the double bass technique up to the seventh position. Book 2 features technical exercises, bowing techniques, polyphonic works by J. S. Bach, advanced techniques such as double- and triple-stop exercises, and several new instructional pieces composed by Gajdo¿. Additionally, students are introduced to notation in tenor and treble clefs. The inclusion of two major works by the author, D minor Suite and Solo in A minor, completes the two-volume Gajdo¿ Double Bass School.This English edition, published by BumbleBee Notes Music Publishing in 2026, is a faithful translation and copy of the original. The only differences are the organization of the introductory material and the placement of the table of contents (What's Inside). There is also additional information at the back, highlighting the importance of the Czech double bass school that Gajdo¿'s method so strongly represents.
