Futurology (Deluxe)

Het twaalfde studio-album van the Manics, grotendeels opgenomen in de legendarische Berlijnse Hansa Studio’s. Gastrollen zijn weggelegd voor o.a. Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), de Duitse filmactrice Nina Hoss, Cian Ciarán (Super Furry Animals) en singer/songwriter Cate Le Bon. De songs op het album zijn geinspireerd door hun ervaringen op het vasteland van Europa, moderne kunst, Kraut Rock, Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire en de Duitse Autobahn. Over dat laatste zegt bassist Nicky Wire: ‘The idea of being on these endless futuristic roads but being surrounded by these ancient forests at the same time. It’s a magical feeling and it makes you think of soundtracks in your head as you’re travelling through this landscape’.
