From a Linear Economic Paradigm to Nature-Like Technosphere: Physics of the Technosphere's Development

The monograph is written for the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Ecology of Technological Processes at ETI MSTU "STANKIN".The book substantiates the transition from a linear economic model to a nature-like technosphere as a physical law of the development of complex systems. The linear paradigm ("extraction - production - waste") contradicts the second law of thermodynamics, leading to an increase in entropy and resource depletion. Based on the constructal law, the physical principle of technosphere stability is formulated as the closure of material cycles embedded in biospheric flows.Key aspects of the transition in the development of nature-like technologies become the foundation of state sovereignty, and the introduction of the concept of "loneliness syndrome," as a systemic challenge to eco-engineering, requires a revision of human-machine interfaces towards the full automation of ecological services.The physical law of technosphere development is formulated: the long-term existence of the technosphere is possible only through its evolution from a linear to a cyclic, nature-like architecture.The work is addressed to those who are tired of single-disciplinary thinking.
