Francis of Assisi

In an age when sanctity has been reduced to superficial sentimental myths and figures from Catholic history are systematically cloaked in the garb of modernistic humanism, this profound biography restores the true face of Saint Francis of Assisi. Contemporary culture and liberal discourse frequently attempt to turn the Seraphic Father into a medieval precursor of a modern ecologist or a sympathetic hippie who sang to nature in an idyllic peace devoid of dogmas, sacraments, and the combat against sin. Such a portrait is not only historically false but deeply heretical. It erases that which is most essential to his life: the Cross, penance, Lady Poverty, a burning love for the Eucharistic Jesus, and unconditional obedience to Holy Mother Church. Saint Francis was not a romantic poet of nature for nature's sake. He was the consummate penitent, a knight of the King of Kings, and a blazing seraph whose entire being melted in fervent love for the crucified Savior. Relying strictly upon the earliest and most credible sources of Catholic tradition-including the historical writings of Brother Thomas of Celano, the testimonies of the Three Companions, and traditional hagiographical records cleansed of modern revisionist layers-this book guides the reader along the paths of true grace. Inside this biography, you will discover: ¿ The true supernatural joy of Francis embracing the lepers. ¿ His rigorous fasts and flight from sin and the flesh. ¿ The dramatic encounter with the Sultan and the defense of the Catholic Faith. ¿ The miraculous imprinting of the Sacred Wounds (Stigmata) on Mount Alverna. Serving as a spiritual shield and a light against the false glamour of contemporary ideologies, this book is essential reading for everyone seeking the true Catholic saint. May the intercession of the Seraphic Father awaken souls from the slumber of lukewarmness and lead them back to the narrow path that leads to life eternal.
