Firebrand County

In "Firebrand County", legendary Western author Des Dunn, writing as Sheldon B. Cole, delivers a visceral tale of a man haunted by a past he cannot outrun. Drifting gunman Blake Durant, known simply as "The Loner," rides into the desert town of Dryden with a mob's insults still ringing in his ears and the scars of injustice fresh on his soul.Expectations of a quiet rest are shattered when Durant is pulled into a web of greed, disloyalty, and cold-blooded murder. In a county where the law is a suggestion and firebrands rule the range, Durant must navigate the treacherous motives of men like Barnaby and Johnson while holding onto the one thing that keeps him going: the memory of Louise Yerby. Packed with gritty atmosphere and explosive action, this story follows a man searching for something intangible in a land that offers only death and bitter memories. Bound by his own code, Durant proves that even a loner can leave a mark on a lawless land.
