Fighting Depression: Depressive Disorders Signs, Symptoms, and Helpful Tips

Depressive disorders are found in all societies, affect all social classes, and the most tragic outcome remains suicide. According to the World Health Organization (2001), 10% of the population suffers from these disorders, which have harmful consequences for both the functioning of the affected individual and that of their loved ones. Some researchers have demonstrated a degree of comorbidity with other conditions, such as anxiety disorders, or have noted a tendency for higher rates of depressive disorders among certain individuals, such as those with ischemic heart disease. In this booklet, Dr. Cadet explains the issues surrounding depressive disorders, the main symptoms associated with them, and offers useful advice for improving the well-being of people suffering from depressive disorders.
