This Discussion seeks to understand and identify opportunities in the measurement, control and manipulation of nanoscale mass transport across a variety of advanced applications. The transit of molecules and ions through angstrom-scale channels are core to the fundamental mechanisms of cutting-edge technologies such as ionic/molecular separation, nanofiltration, desalination, neuromorphic ionic memory, DNA and protein translocation and supercapacitors. This Discussion seeks to understand and identify opportunities in the measurement, control and manipulation of nanoscale mass transport across a variety of advanced applications.
