As observed in the literature reviewed, a long survival rate for restorations can be expected provided that patient, operator and material factors are taken into account when the restorations are performed. When repair actions are contemplated, the least minimally invasive and most cost-effective method has to be practiced. Some minor defects around margins such as minor discoloration or ditching may not result in impaired function, and thus such failures could be only monitored instead of repair or replacement.
