He has worked for the Greek Service of the BBC, at the Middlesex Polytechnic-University and as an Adviser to the President of Cyprus. In this latter capacity he was a cofounder of the University of Cyprus and of the University of Nicosia, of which he is President Emeritus. He has published a number of papers on moral and political philosophy, an abridged version of Proust's great novel In Search of Lost Time [NPG] and he has also published an Anthology of Classical Greek Poetry and an Anthology of Greek Tragedy in Ancient and Modern Greek.
