Ethical Influence Under Pressure: Choosing Integrity to Create Change that Endures

Most books about influence assume ideal conditions. This one begins where real life begins: under pressure. Ethical Influence Under Pressure is a bold, timely exploration of what it means to create change with integrity when the stakes are high and compromise is tempting. Dr. Arin N. Reeves argues that influence is not persuasion, performance, or power over others. It is the deeper architecture that shapes how people think, feel, belong, and act. Through vivid case studies and a practical framework, Reeves shows how ethical influence works across four layers: cognitive, emotional, social, and structural. She also shows why change fails when those layers are out of alignment and what it takes to build influence that can survive backlash, fear, fatigue, and time. For leaders, organizers, advocates, and readers trying to move people and systems without abandoning truth, dignity, or justice, this book offers a powerful guide to creating change that endures.
