Enter the Watcher

When shards of incredible power fall on Oerth, they do not fall as weapons but as questions. Ren is a monk of the Three Great Halls Monastery visiting the Sun Palace monastery for training. He is trained in discipline, restraint, and the careful balance between law and compassion. He has survived wars across worlds, walked other planes, and learned when to strike --- and when to wait. But nothing in his training prepared him for the quiet corruption now creeping through the halls of his own order. As ancient prophecies awaken and hidden forces maneuver from shadowed corners, Ren begins to see the truth: the shards do not create conflict --- they reveal it. Law fractures. Loyalty bends. Faith becomes leverage. Alongside Milly, a warrior whose convictions are forged in motion rather than doctrine, Ren must choose whether obedience is still virtue when it serves the wrong end. As Imperion watches, weighing judgment against experience, the fate of the world balances restraint, resistance, and the courage to step away when the variables grow too many to manage. This is not a story of heroes who conquer. It is the story of those who endure --- and decide.
