Easy Study Materials: English Literature of the Elizabethan and Jacobean Age is designed to meet the needs of BA Semester I students at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, as part of the curriculum introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It provides an in-depth exploration of the social, cultural, and literary developments of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, with a specific focus on the analysis of significant texts and Shakespearean drama. The two papers, MT-1 and MT-2, are thoughtfully structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the era's key literary figures and works. The question-and-answer format is designed to enhance students' comprehension and analytical skills, allowing them to appreciate the breadth and depth of Elizabethan and Jacobean literature. The first paper, English Literature of the Elizabethan and Jacobean Age (ELT1MJ1), begins with a discussion of the social and literary characteristics that define these eras. A key aspect of this period is the sonnet, a popular poetic form used to convey personal emotions, particularly love.
