Engineering as a Career

This book is an attempt to get young people to choose engineering as a career. Information and examples are presented on what engineering is, what engineers do, the different types of engineering, who hires engineers, and the rewards of a career in engineering. The book describes a way to quantitatively compare engineering with other candidate careers; it shows the schooling requirements, and discusses how to determine if you are a "fit" for a career in engineering. The book ends with a chapter on how engineers are needed to solve the current global warming energy issues.It is written by a practicing engineer with significant experience in manufacturing (automobile, chemical process) as well as two decades in research and testing of engineering materials.
