Six months after the grid died, Cedar Bluff, Idaho is still standing. A dry well. A hand built filter. Fifteen hundred people who buried their dead and kept going. Power. Heat. A light bulb burning in a real room. Sixty seats on a truck going out. It is the first hope this county has had since July, and every instinct Danielle owns is screaming at her not to take it.Then a doctor bleeds out on a county road. A man with a crowbar comes out from behind a stack of pallets looking to cause trouble. And a sealed case comes out of a hole in the ground with three letters and a number stamped on the side.Somebody has been counting this town since the first week.
