Eleven Guests

Eleven strangers came to the wedding. Nobody invited them. Everyone found a reason to let them stay.At Morrowick House, Tessa Baines has one night to give her dying father the wedding he has waited to see. Then eleven unfamiliar guests arrive through the winter dark. Each is dressed for the occasion. Each is welcomed by someone who assumes they belong to the other side of the family. When a violent mistake threatens to destroy the celebration, the strangers make themselves useful. They offer a car, a quiet room, clean clothes, medicine, records, alibis-every small mercy required to keep the music playing.By morning, banquet captain Marcelino Cruz has vanished, and his sister Ana is asking questions the Baines family cannot afford to answer. As the hotel closes around them, Tessa discovers that the guests never demand a lie. They merely provide whatever makes the lie easier to live with. And every kindness draws her family deeper into a conspiracy whose final invitation may already bear her name.Eleven Guests is a dark novel of supernatural and psychological horror about family loyalty, useful strangers, and the terrible things ordinary people will preserve when the truth becomes too expensive.
