Eighty-Sixed: A Wallace Durham Novel

Edgar Burroughs and Wallace Durham don't have much in common. Edgar is a seventy-six-year-old retired blackjack dealer who runs a cigar shop near his alma mater. After two tours in the jungle and a life of running schemes and scams, all he wants to do is run his store in peace, and host an occasional back-alley poker game. Wallace, on the other hand, has always known his calling was law enforcement. He is honest, quiet, helpful, and reckless in the pursuit of truth. Politics and circumstance have ensured his place as a patrol deputy-until a surprising case provides him with the opportunity to finally prove his worth. Edgar and Wallace's paths collide when Edgar is kidnapped by a gang intent on robbing his store and ends up committing murder. In the wake of the chaos, Wallace finds unexpected connections to the kidnapping, a recent murder, and a decades-old robbery. All Wallace wants is to catch a killer and all Edgar wants is to stay alive.
