Effects of bariatric interventions on psychological variables

In today's society, more and more people are overweight - an ever-increasing percentage of this group is already morbidly obese. At this stage of obesity, most of those affected are no longer able to reduce their weight on their own. However, as this is highly recommended for purely health reasons, the only remaining solution is often surgery (gastric banding or gastric bypass). These operations usually help to achieve quite good results in terms of weight reduction. However, this book deals with psychological variables that are associated with weight loss. Among other things, it presents a study that investigated the changes in pathogenic eating behavior, eating disorders and subjective quality of life after gastroscopy compared to before.
