Effect of Season on Semen Collection Murrah Buffalo Bull

This book is designed to explain the effect of season on semen collection of Murrah buffalo bull in climate of Chhattisgarh, India. Before writing, the research was conducted at Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department and Central Semen Station Anjora, Durg (Chhattisgarh), India during August-December 2023. The buffalo bulls under investigation were maintained under identical feeding and management at the farm.A total of 54 semen ejaculates from six bulls were used using three ejaculates from each bull across three different seasons in present study. Various post-thaw parameters of frozen semen including post-thaw motility, sperm viability, acrosomal integrity, morphological sperm abnormalities and plasma membrane integrity (HOST) were evaluated.Finally, it may be concluded that semen collected during winter season demonstrated superior post-thaw semen quality than during summer and rainy season.This book is mainly intended for the beginners, researchers, practitioners in the field of Veterinary Sciences.
